What ForgedLife collects, who can see it, where it lives, and how to delete it. Written to be read.
Last updated: September 2026
1. What this covers
This policy covers the ForgedLife app for iPhone and iPad, the church console at admin.theforged.life, and this website, all operated by ForgedLife. When we say "we", we mean ForgedLife. When we say "you", we mean a person using the app, the console, or the site.
We collect what the app needs to work and nothing we would be embarrassed to explain. We do not sell your data.
2. Your account
You create an account with Sign in with Apple or an email address and password. We store the email address, or the private relay address Apple gives us, so you can sign in and so we can reach you about your account.
Your email is used for sign-in only. It is never shown to other users, to church leaders, or in the console.
3. Your profile
Your profile holds:
- Display name and initials, shown to people in your groups.
- Photo, optional, shown to people in your groups.
- Gender, used to keep men's and women's groups, challenges and partners separate. It is a product rule, not a preference, and it is not shown as a label.
4. Activity data
Using the app produces activity data:
- Task completions, with the task, the pillar and the date.
- Points, XP per pillar, ranks and badges.
- Streaks, current and longest.
- Challenge membership: which challenges and groups you are in, and your points in each.
- Finance Academy progress and quiz results.
- Accountability partner check-ins.
- Messages you send in a challenge chat or to your partner, and prayer requests you post.
This data is stored on your device and synced to our servers so it follows you between devices and so your group can see the parts meant for them.
5. Church affiliation
If you enter a church code, we store your home church and the code you entered. That links your account to the church so it can list you on the roster, put you in a group, and send you announcements. You can change your home church in the app.
6. What other users see
People in the same group or challenge as you see your name, initials or photo, your points on the leaderboard, the messages you send in that group's chat, and the prayer requests you post on that group's prayer wall. Your accountability partner sees your daily check-ins and the messages between the two of you.
People outside your group see none of that. There is no public profile and no public feed.
7. What church leaders see
Church leaders and church admins use the console to run studies. They see participation only:
- Who is in which group.
- Last activity date.
- Task completion, session attendance, pre-work completion and check-ins.
- Streaks.
They never see chat messages, prayer requests, partner check-ins, or email addresses. The console does not have a way to show them.
ForgedLife staff can access the underlying database to operate the service and to help you with a support request.
8. Analytics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase. It collects app usage events (for example, which screens are opened and which features are used), your current level and total XP as user properties, and device information such as model, operating system version and app version. We use this to understand which parts of the app are used and to fix problems. Analytics data is not linked to your name or email in the analytics tools.
9. Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can send you reminders for your tasks and study sessions, announcements from your church, and chat and partner messages. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time. Turning them off removes nothing else.
10. Where data is stored
ForgedLife runs on Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging and Analytics). Data is stored in the United States. Google acts as our processor and is bound by its own terms and security commitments.
11. Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as you have an account.
To delete your account, email support@theforged.life from the address on your account. We delete your profile, your activity data and your church affiliation, and confirm by reply.
Messages you sent in a group chat and prayer requests you posted may remain visible to that group as coming from a removed member.
Backups are purged on a rolling basis after deletion.
12. Children
ForgedLife is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will remove it.
13. Changes
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
14. Contact
